I float along the breeze like a butterfly...flitting here, floating there, seeing what I may. The wind may take me where it wills until I find my way. :)

It rained & poured for 40 dayzies, dayzies
Ok, maybe not 40 days, but even 4 days is quite long enouth! We have had so much rain here, that some people's homes have flooded & several people have had to be rescued with boats! I can honestly say, I've never been sent home from work due to the threat of flooding, but that's exactly what happened today...my company closed early today...and 1/2 of the people in my office didn't even come in due to the rain...craziness! I'm thinking an ark & scuba gear are very much needed, cuz this weather doesn't look to be letting up any time soon...glug, glug, glug...

Blue skys coming my way...
Hooray for the return of sunshine & blue skys! After 4 continuous days of rain, the clouds have finally parted & the sun has reappeared...at least for the rest of the evening...hopefully, the droplets will be kept at bay for the rest of the weekend. Even with the rain yesterday, that was still not enough to stop me from enjoying a tour of Zoo Atlanta.
Our company had their annual sales meeting until 1pm & then we were given the option to roam the Zoo or go back to work...although, I know for a fact that almost no one roamed the Zoo OR went back to work. Myself & 2 co-workers decided to set out on an adventurous & soggy hike through said Zoo to see how the animals were enjoying the soppy weather.
We saw some really cool things: got to watch the pandas eating...up close; gorillas at snack time...a mother even gave her baby a ride along right in front of the view wall; and best of all - a huge elephant swaying! Yes, that's right...an elephant swaying...she had wonderful rhythm; it seemed like she had on headphones that no one else could hear! All in all, even though drenched, it was a great day out of the office!
I'm so hoping the weather stays nice this weekend...I'm looking to check out an art show tomorrow...fingers crossed!
Peace out all!!!

Distraction...and the friends who bring it...
Tonight, my lovely bringer-of-distraction was my newly pregnant friend, Jennifer. While I was all cozy getting ready to watch a movie & knit until my heart was content, I got a very unexpected phone call from said friend...thus leading to my distraction.
Now, being the type of friend that my dear Jen is, one cannot multitask too much while talking with her on the phone because she will surely give a pop-quiz...so, one must stay fully involved in the conversation in order to pass with flying colors. That being said, the conversation soon took a turn into baby name country & the rest (of my evening...hehehe) was history! Jen is seriously considering a Biblical baby name...however, the names must also sound just as good or better when pronounced with a Hispanic accent...since my dear friend is Puerto Rican & her husband Mexican, the Spanish definitely flies when they are around.
So, for the last 2 hours, I have looked through every Biblical name there is...and found quite a few that she liked. One of my favorite finds was the meaning of the name Erastus - which just happens to be the first name of my great-great-grand-father on my mother's side - and which I affectionately named a wooden mallard duck given to me by a good friend - this odd sounding name actually means: Beloved...imagine that!
While my friend's distraction was certainly welcomed, it was even more interesting to find the meaning of a family name...both of my great-great-grand-father & my duck!
Night all!

Peanut Butter Frosting...oh yes, I said it... :)Frosting!
I found a fantastic (looking) recipe last week for Peanut Butter Frosting that was supposed to not be very sweet, but excellent & fluffy...how could this be, I thought?!?! Well, tonight I decided to try said frosting...and let me me just say that I can completely attest to its extreme yumminess!!! The best thing about this frosting is that it's been mounded upon 2 dozen Devil's Food cake cupcakes - and that lovely double dozen will help my co-workers & I get through tomorrow with all smiles!
Goodnight all; wishing you mounds of sweet dreams of frosting! :)

Motivation - a welcome friend!
Motivation is quite an interesting thing...and sometimes, even more interesting is the lack thereof. After months of clutter growing on my table(s) (yes, plural) I finally found the motivation to clean & throw away! What was my motivating factor, you might ask...ironically, watching an episode of the show Horders...yikesaby!!!
I am in no way a hoarder, but I was reminded that those houses filled with amazing amounts of clutter didn't get that way in one day or one year. So, I got off my duff & went to work! It seems to be the everyday, mundane things that require more motivation...but those creative & new things are enough motivation on their own.
A perfect example is my new-found obsession with knitting...I can't seem to stop...which I'm hoping will make me some money one day! Anyway, no matter what the avenue, thankfully somehow, motivation was both a welcome & unexpected visitor today!
Word of the day....Motivate!!!
