The Butler

Tonight, my friend and I went to see The Butler...and I can't begin to say enough about this movie.  It made me laugh; it made me cry; it made me angry; it made me sad; it made me smile.  Other than the previews, I really had no preconceived notions regarding this film; however, on the way out the door, one of my neighbors mentioned that she had already seen it and proceeded to give her (unsolicited) take on it.  Since I don't put much stock in the opinions of most people, I tried to forget her semi-negative synopsis since I prefer to make my own judgments.  And can I tell you, I'm so glad I did!

This film is brilliantly acted and the slew of amazing actors adds such depth to the story.  The story...just the story alone is amazing, but Forest Whitaker was absolutely stellar!  Not to mention Oprah Winfrey...her performance was fantastic!  

One man who worked hard to try and make a difference in our country...and he did.
